Royal China at Forum Mall, Kolkata is designed to create a space which is timeless – design that does not grow old with time. The whole space has been planned in 2 parts – Restaurant & Lounge connected by a common service area.
Restaurant Area
The Restaurant has clear glass panels installed on the side facing the mall atrium to create a sense of openness to the space.
Italian marble is being used for flooring. Marble being a natural material gives a natural touch to the space. It also gives an open & plush finish to the overall ambience. A medium grey tone has being used so that it goes well with any mood & ambience.
The walls are finished in dark wooden veneer to add richness to the space.
The height of the doors are kept high to add visual volume. The entrance door is finished in wood & metal to provide a splendid entry.
The floor is being raised in two areas of the restaurant with wooden flooring to give a character to the whole space.
The metal jaali in front of the bar is an elegant tribute to marvelous French metal craftsmanship.
The false ceiling is kept at one single level to minimise clutter and add space.
Lounge Area
The Lounge has a foyer essentially designed as the welcome area with an eclectic look. The use of red colour is the prominent theme of the space. This bring in the much needed Chinese flavour to the ambience. A red chandelier, a solid wood hostess desk and a life size graphical art work in predominantly red colour contributes to the overall visual appearance.
The D.J. Area has being planned on a raised level from which he/she can connect to the guests.
The overall finishes of the lounge area are less formal that gives a sense of warmth. This is enhanced by the addition of rafters on the wall which also has great acoustic properties. The Lounge also has been designed keeping in mind the auditory requirements of the space.
The bar is a self service one with metal jaali in the front similar to the one in the restaurant area. The bar back is designed in metal finished in rose gold and jet black to give an industrial yet rich look to the place.
The central sitting area & high table on the sides create different seating areas to different audiences. The VIP zone provided for a space with extra privacy. A special art installation created with wine bottles add a an artistic touch to the space.
